Description
Women’s Rock Climbing Weekend
Bow and Columbia Valleys, Canadian Rockies
Back by popular demand, Women Rock weekends will be held monthly throughout 2024 in the Bow and Columbia Valleys. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to rock climb, or simply want to improve your current skill set, we’re here to support you on your journey. Climbing is a portal into the present moment through body-centered action. It is particularly helpful for people who suffer from anxiety and depression, as well as those who simply want to connect with the sheer joy of being alive.

Itinerary
Friday 6:00 PM: Meet and greet at the Iron Goat Restaurant on Benchlands Trail, where we will share drinks, food, and talk about our goals for the weekend. I will facilitate a discussion around the mental health benefits of body-centered action, how we can turn these skills into a practice, and how to transpose them into our everyday lives.
Saturday 8:00 AM: Meet at Beamers Coffee Shop on Bow Valley Trail, where we will carpool twenty minutes to the venue parking lot. A twenty-minute hike puts us at the base of the crag. We will go over safety protocols and basic movement skills before we hit the rock for the reminder of the day.
Saturday 6:00 PM: Meet for drinks and dinner at a TBD venue where we will debrief our successes and frustrations from the day. I will facilitate a discussion around how to move through mental and physical blocks to presence both on, and off, the rock.
Sunday 8:00 AM: Meet at Beamers Coffee Shop where we will carpool one hour to a larger venue. We’ll spend the day putting all our physical, mental, and emotional skills to the test!
Sunday 3:00 PM: We hike back to the parking lot, where we share our top learnings from the weekend, as well as how we plan on continuing our practice once we leave the retreat.
