We live in a hyper-materialistic world, one that directs our consciousness to focus on the outer at the expense of the inner. But if life happens from the inside out, this basically hijacks our internal navigation system and replaces it with mindless conformity to a uniform reality. Anyone who steps outside of this reality is deemed “mentally ill” or “crazy.”
But if every problem contains its own solution, “going crazy” is simply the natural result of something inside of you becoming strong enough to resist the outer programming. For this reason, rather than locking them away as aberrations, society could learn a lot about its inner machinations from precisely those who break free of them.
If magic is the art of altering the focus of consciousness at will, the best skill you can master is how to harness your attention in a world that is increasingly aimed at stealing it.

Impeccably said Margo! I am reading “the saint, the surfer and the CEO” by Robin Sharma at the moment on this very subject!
Thanks Maude; I’ll put that title on my reading list!
