The perspective on top of a mountain is vastly different than from the valley below. Perhaps the greatest gift from the dark side is that it is living proof of the existence of light. If you only live in one state, how do you know if any other exists? Some humans cruise along valley floors, and know not of the existence of peaks because they have never experienced these. If most people live in that state, it is considered normal. But what if life is like an EKG, where a flat line is the worst possible scenario, and high peaks and troughs a sign of true life? What if the person diagnosed with bi polar is actually living more fully than the person who experiences the ups and downs of a regular life?
